1st Friday Art Trail
The first time I told my husband we were going to the 1st Friday Art Trail, the eye rolling was non-stop! I told him to have an open mind because it was something new and we heard a lot of great things about it. You can hop on the Lubbock trolleys that take you from place to place around town where you can learn about local featured artists and various art mediums or head to Downtown Lubbock to walk around. My husband ended up having a great time! Wine, music, snacks, art and inspiring artists are a great way to celebrate the 1st Friday of every month! Held at places like MacPherson Cellars, The Clay House, The Buddy Holley Center and more, this event held the first Friday of each month is a creative way to learn about local Lubbock art and your husband might even enjoy himself! You won’t be disappointed! http://ffat.org
La Diosa Cellars
As a live music fan, I was needing a new scene outside of the typical “bar.” My husband and I stumbled across La Diosa, and sat in this amazingly funky restaurant/bar with some of the best live music and food you will find in Lubbock. Snacking on tapas and delicious entrees amidst a really cool atmosphere, La Diosa is entertainment central! Note: The ALBÓNDIGAS DE MADRID may have been the best thing I have ever eaten in my life coupled with the Sangiovese wine. You will thank me! http://www.ladiosacellars.com/
The Range Lubbock
Just as my husband rolled his eyes about 1st Friday art trail, I heard “golfing at the Range” and I ran for the hills. BUT, I was completely wrong! The Range is the most fun, relaxing and happening place around Lubbock! Off the beaten path of Indiana and 116 Street, this awesome bar, grille, golf, washers and live music mecca is a BLAST! The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere relaxed, and I get mega-wife points for taking my husband golfing for date night while I entertain myself with so many things to do there! NOTE: We have taken our daughter several times, and she now asks to go to the Range instead of swimming or the movies!! Even a 2 year-old knows how great this place it! http://www.therangelbk.com/
